60th Telangana Liberation Day
NRIs in Bay Area CA USA have celebrated 60th Telangana Liberation Day
in a ceremonial way in Sunny Vale,CA USA
They have invited world renowned presidential award winner and Baltic Artist from Telanagana Sri Yasala Balaiah who cut the cake and inaugurated the function.The meeting was attended by all NRI party representatives. They have began the meeting by mainitaining silence for two minutes to condole the deaths casused in BAD blasts carried out by terrorits in new Delhi India.
On this occassion he spoke to remember the difficulties his family faced
during Razakar's time and expressed his anguish at not decalaring sept 17th
as official independence day for Telangana.
Vijay Chavva chairman of TCA who spoke continous govts have given color of
religion to Telangana liberation and being afraid of minority votes simply
ignored the importance of day which is as good as 15th August to entire
nation,He said Muslims have also played major role in liberating Telangana
and this day has nothing to do with religion. He said several of his known
Hindu families were rescued by muslims at the cost of their lives. He
demanded govt to be impartial and declare it as
official independence day like Maharashtra and Karnataka did, he also requested
political parties to stop dramas by observing Telangana Day only in election year which does not serve the cause
.
Buchanna Gajula said that in villages Telangana liberation is still being
rememberred and discussed about how razakars cruel activities have given
suffereing to families.It was on this day that then Hyderabad state
acceded to the Indian Union as the last Nizam or ruler of the princely
state surrendered before the Indian Army. The princely state comprising
Telangana region and parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra attained freedom
13 months and two days after India got independence on August 15,
1947. It's unfortunate that in whole world only Telangana is not celebrating
it's freedom officially.
Prasad Gattu who represented Loksatta said all parties
should come to practical terms and recognise septemeber 17th as
official independence day
Tiruptaiah Gande who represented HSS spoke at length
described his family sufferings in the hands of Razakaras and said he heard
of many Jalianwala Bagh is Telangana Region, he said Nizam made young
ladies play Bhatukamma nakedly which stood for their attrocities.
Suresh Reddy Vuyyuru of NRI TDP said he is all for supporting Sept 17th as
official Telanagana Day.He promised that he will follow up with his party
for declaring this day as liberation day.
Mayur Reddy said he lost his grand father for attrocities of Nizam.

Some Telangna songs like 'Bandenuka bandi katti padaharu balu katti' songs were song by the participents.
The meeting ended after saluting the Indian flag and american flag.
