As part of 2 week long Vasavi Jayanthi Celebrations across United States, Vasavi Jayanthi/Mothers Day celebrated in Hindu Temple Of Atlanta on 10th May in a grand manner. This year NRIVA arranged Vasavi Matha brass idols exclusively made for Vasavi Jayanthi celebrations in USA from Penugonda (Akhila Bharata Sri Vasavi Penugonda Trust).
This is the second year in a row Vasavi Jayanthi has been celebrated in Atlanta where significant growth in participation by Atlanta NRIs, specially who believe in Vasavi Matha’s sacrifice and message. This year around 150 people attended with National Vasavites organization NRIVA(www.NRIVA.org).
Before the pooja Hindu Temple of Atlanta Priests performed Abhishekham and extravagant decoration of Vasavi Matha idol and Vasavi Matha pooja has began at 12.00 PM with 4 temple priests after performing Sahasra nama , Ashtothara archana , Mangala Aarathi and Manthra Pushpam.
Later speakers have explained the importance of Vasavi Jayanthi, Lalita Sahasranama. Speakers distributed the message of Godess Vasavi, DHARMA-INTEGRITY-NON VIOLENCE and her story in pictures. Sri. Balu garu explained the history of Vasavi Matha sanctum in Hindu Temple of Atlanta and the hardwork of Dr.Raghu Grandige in having the Vasavi Matha idol in HTA. Speakers also explained about Adopt-A-Student and other service projects to help under privileged students.
Team of 8 families co-ordinated the event primarily with the great effort by Chittari Pabba and Anand Garlapati.
Chittari, Sam Tallam, Raghava Tadavarthi, Nagesh Kasam, Gopal Narasimhan, Saiprasad Vajramanickam, Anantha Srirama, , Shyam Padamatinti, Anand Garlapati and so many other families not only coordinated, volunteered for this grand event but also arranged 12 different kinds of Rice items and so many other items for delicious lunch to the participants.
The national level Vasvai Jayanthi celebrations being coordinated this year by NRIVA(www.NRIVA.org) across all 50 states in USA and other parts of the world under guidance of Penugonda Vasavi Kshetra Peethadhipathi Sri.Sri.Sri.Krishnanandapuri Swamiji and Akhila Bharata Vasavi Penugonda Trust.
